Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph” opens in U.S. with $6M in theater box office debut

Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph will open in more than 1,400 theaters on July 11 in the United States and Canada.

The $6 million opening will be the largest opening day for a feature film this year, according to estimates from Box Office Mojo.

The film, starring Kristen Bell and Kristen Wiig, will open with a projected $50 million domestic opening.

Bell and Wiig are among the stars who will star in the film, which is also based on the popular book series by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

The Walt Disney Company, which owns the rights to the original Wreckers franchise, will release the film in theaters on June 23.

The sequel to the 2014 hit Wreck It Ralph was a $200 million box office success.
